ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a multimedia & teaching artist working at the intersection of digital media, hands‑on making, and collaborative storytelling. My practices blend analog and digital processes with paper engineering, assemblage, photography, video, and web‑based media—to create playful, accessible entry points into creative exploration. With a background in educational technology, I am especially interested in how learning, interaction, and curiosity shape artistic experiences in galleries, classrooms, and community spaces.

BIOGRAPHY

Pete holds a B.A. in Digital Media with a specialization in Interactive Entertainment and an M.S. in Education with a focus on Educational Technology. These backgrounds inform his interest in interaction, accessibility, and narrative unfolding, while keeping the work grounded in simple materials and direct experience. Pete’s practice emphasizes visible construction and an approachable visual language, creating work that feels both playful and reflective.

In addition to his studio practice, Pete collaborates on interactive exhibitions and community-based art projects that center shared experience, curiosity, and connection.

Explore – Retreat – Reflect is a three-dimensional interactive diorama that invites viewers to follow a winding road into a layered mountain landscape. Constructed from brightly colored paper with intentionally rough, torn edges, the work reflects a hands-on, approachable sensibility rooted in pop-up books and the simple pleasure of making by hand.
